This means that Bergamot FCF Essential Oil can be worn on your skin, (after being properly diluted in a good carrier oil), even if you intend to immediately expose your skin to the sun.

Bergamot FCF Aromatherapy Oil would be photo toxic if it weren’t for the fact it is furocoumarin-free, (FCF). More specifically, bergaptene is the furocoumarin within Bergamot Essential Oil, which is phototoxic.

Furocoumarin occurs naturally within Bergamot Essential Oil. However, it is possible to isolate this constituent and remove it, thus making Bergamot FCF Essential Oil safe to wear in the sun.
