Bergamot FCF Essential Oil regulates and balances all aspects of our nervous system… the central and autonomic nervous system…
This makes it of full-spectrum benefit for all of the symptoms of nervous system disorder:
- Hyperactivity + restlessness
- Sluggishness + exhaustion + chronic fatigue
- Emotional imbalances: anxiety + depression
- Prolonged stress + tension (environmental toxins, emotional stress, chronic illness etc)
Bergamot FCF Essential Oil is antidepressant + anxiolytic (anti-anxiety) when inhaled + sedative.
Bergamot FCF Essential Oil has been shown to increase the neurotransmitter, Gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), which blocks impulses between nerve cells in the brain. Low levels of GABA are known to exacerbate emotional disorders, epilepsy and chronic pain.
Its sedative effects are also significant. Bergamot FCF Essential Oil calms and relaxes our nervous system by lowering blood cortisol and corticosterone, which are both stress hormones.
Bergamot FCF Essential Oil also interacts with another important hormone required for good nervous system function. It stimulates melatonin, which is necessary for sleep.
As an antispasmodic Bergamot FCF Essential Oil acts as a neurotonic, helping to rebalance our nervous system, including the autonomic nervous system.
Although sedative, it is also a stimulant, increasing neurotransmitter amino acid levels in the hippocampus. Specifically, the neurotransmitter amino acids influenced are glycine, GABA and glutamine.
Bergamot FCF Essential Oil is also a tonic, exerting neuroprotective actions which prevent the accumulation of glutamate.
It is detoxifying, lymphotonic and hepato-protective, (supports liver function). Our liver, is our most important detox pathway. As a choleretic it stimulates bile production & evacuation, and it also promotes a hypocholesterolemic action, lowering cholesterol levels.
Because it is antispasmodic, it helps prevent bronchial, ureteral duct, bile duct and intestinal smooth muscle fibre spasms.
*The ureter is a small tube that connects the bladder and kidneys.
Bergamot FCF Essential Oil supports digestive health. Digestive function is the first process in our body to be compromised when we are under stress or suffering from nervous disorders.
It is: anti-nausea + anti-ulcer + appetite regulator + gastro-protective + carminative + digestive + laxative.
Consequently, it influences motility and gastric acidity, whilst also reducing gastroesophageal reflux.
Bergamot FCF Essential Oil is also anti-inflammatory. Specifically, it reduces inflammation and helps recalibrate our immune response by optimising efficiency and minimising negative impacts.
As Bergamot FCF Essential Oil is cortisone-like, it acts as a pituitary-adrenal cortex stimulant, which is beneficial for those suffering from prolonged inflammatory conditions, such as the 140+ known autoimmune diseases etc.
Additionally, Bergamot FCF Essential Oil is antiviral and antibacterial, which also supports immune function.
As Bergamot FCF Essential Oil is analgesic as well as anti-inflammatory it possesses potent pain-relieving potential. Pain is a key promoter of stress, and nervous system excitation.
Wild As The Wind also carry an Organic Bergamot FCF Essential Oil.
The health benefits of Black Spruce Essential Oil are extensive….
Black Spruce Essential Oil health benefits include: analgesic + anti-anxiety (anxiolytic) + antibacterial + antidepressant + antifungal + anti-inflammatory + antimicrobial + antioxidant + antiparasitic + antipyretic (reduces fever) + antispasmodic + antitussive (suppresses coughing) + antiviral + astringent + disinfectant + diuretic + expectorant + grounding + mucolytic (makes mucus less thick & easier to evacuate) + neurotonic + rubifacient (increases blood flow) + stimulant + stomachic + tonic + warming
Please refer to the Glossary Of Terms for more information.
As an analgesic and anti-inflammatory, many of the stressors of modern life are mitigated when using Black Spruce Essential Oil. This is particularly true as it provides significant immune support. In addition, the anxiolytic and antidepressant properties of this comprehensively supportive aromatherapy oil, also provide profound relief for our neurological system.
More specifically, Black Spruce Essential Oil is thought to strengthen and support our adrenal glands, particularly during periods of stress and fatigue. This helps to regulate the stress response, thereby reducing the burden on our nervous system.
It is also a tonic for our lymphatic system, thus aiding detoxification.
Black Spruce Essential Oil has been shown to mimic the stress hormone cortisone, which is the most anti-inflammatory agent in the human body. This provides relief for our adrenal glands, which helps to reduce fatigue / exhaustion, thereby increasing stamina, and improving our emotional wellbeing.
Black Spruce Essential Oil supports the regulation of serotonin, (our happy hormone). It also promotes sleep. All of which are critical for our emotional wellbeing and the proper function of our bodies.
Because Black Spruce Essential Oil reduces stress, aids detoxification and helps to restore emotional balance, it also provides significant support for our immune system. Add to this its antiseptic, antifungal, antibacterial, antiviral, antiparasitic, and tonic properties, and you have a formidable neuroprotective agent.
The health benefits of Organic Cypress Essential Oil are thought to include: analgesic + anti-anxiety + antibacterial + antidepressant + antifungal + antimicrobial + anti-rheumatic + antiseptic + antispasmodic + astringent + circulatory stimulant + diuretic + emmenagogue (stimulates pelvic circulation & increases menstrual flow) + expectorant + insect repellent + mucolytic + nervine + rubefacient (dilates capillaries & increases blood flow) + sedative + stimulant + tonic + vasoconstrictive (substance which helps the contraction of blood vessels) + vermifuge (kills intestinal worms)
Organic Cypress Essential Oil exerts far-reaching effects on our neurology. It is beneficial for the following:
- Lymphatic support + stimulating lymphatic drainage & detoxification
- Restless leg syndrome
- Carpal Tunnel
- Trigeminal neuralgia
Its stimulant effects help to improve:
- Brain function
- Nerve function
- Motor function
- Organ function
- Blood flow
As an anti-inflammatory and analgesic, as well as a nervine, Organic Cypress Essential Oil prompts body-wide neurological improvements.
The lymphatic actions of Organic Cypress Essential Oil are due to its diuretic, tonic and circulatory stimulating properties. The lymphatic system removes toxins from our body. Because Organic Cypress Essential Oil helps to stimulate lymphatic drainage it effectively removes the toxic burden from our neurological system.
It also helps to remove the burden of stress from our neurological system owing to its anti-anxiety and antidepressant actions.
As an antispasmodic, Organic Cypress Essential Oil exerts a directly beneficial action on our neurology.
Like Pine Essential Oil, Fir Needle Essential Oil is rich in B-pinene, making it soporific, pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory. To read the full benefits of pinene, please read Wildcrafted Organic Pine Essential Oil below.
As an analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antiviral, astringent, circulatory stimulant, diuretic, nervine, stimulant and tonic, Fir Needle Essential Oil is comprehensively neuroprotective.
As these actions have been previously explained within this page, no further explanation is required. But that is not to suggest that Fir Needle Essential Oil is in any way inferior to the other aromatherapy oils contained in this blend.
It is a vitally important ingredient in this Wild As The Wind Cleanse Essential Oil Blend
Pine Essential Oil is known to be: analgesic + anxiolytic (anti-anxiety) + antibacterial + anti-convulsant + antifungal + anti-inflammatory + antimicrobial + antioxidant + anti-rheumatic + antispasmodic + anti-stress + antiviral + decongestant + expectorant + hypnotic / soporific + immuno-stimulant + neuroprotective + rubefacient + warming
As mentioned earlier, sleep is critical for our overall health. But, REM sleep is the most crucial element of sleep. This is one of the reasons that aromatherapy oils containing pinene are so important.
The α-Pinene content of many evergreen essential oils is high. Pine Essential Oil contains, on average c. 36% α-Pinene, which enhances non-rapid eye movement sleep in mice through GABAA-benzodiazepine receptors. It is a partial modulator of GABAA receptors and directly binds to the benzodiazepine binding site of GABAA receptors.
α-Pinene is anxiolytic and engenders hypnotic effects when inhaled.
Pine Essential Oil also contains c. 19% β-pinene. This means that it is far in excess of 50% pinene.
Evidence suggests that a-pinene and β-pinene can also directly inhibit pro-inflammatory cell signalling pathways to suppress the inflammatory response and engender antioxidant activity as well as offering neuroprotection in models of neurological illness, including ischemia, stroke, and seizures.
Both α-pinene and β-pinene increase striatal dopamine concentrations. In all liklihood, this is what lends Pine Essential oil its anti-convulsant properties.
The following results demonstrate an ability of α-pinene to directly inhibit inflammatory signalling pathways in immune cells.
Studies have shown that pinene protects against oxidative stress, inflammation, and neuronal damage, in-vitro. For example, in studies using mouse macrophages challenged with lipopolysaccharide (LPS), α-pinene reduced pro-inflammatory markers [interleukin-6 (IL-6), tumour necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), and nitric oxide (NO)] by suppressing mitogen-activated protein kinases (MAPKs) and the nuclear factor-kappa B (NF-κB) pathway.
Preclinical studies have also shown neuroprotective properties of α-pinene in models of multiple neurological illnesses (in-vivo). For example, α-pinene (50 and 100 mg/kg) administered to mice immediately after the induction of ischemia decreased the size of the infarct and improved behavioural neurological scores that were attributed to antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects in the hippocampus, cortex, and striatum.
In addition, α-pinene metabolite, (S)-cis-verbenol, exhibited neuroprotective, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory properties (reduced interleukin 1β and TNF-α in the cortex and striatum) in models of ischemia and stroke [including MCAOR (in-vivo) and neuronal oxygen-glucose deprivation (in-vitro)].
The same study revealed that (S)-cis-verbenol-induced calcium influx was not altered by N-Methyl- d-aspartic acid (NMDA) in cultured cortical neurons, suggesting no influence on glutamate receptor signalling, but protected against LPS-induced inflammation by suppressing pro-inflammatory cytokine (IL-1β, IL-6, TNF-α) mRNA expression in those cells.
The anti-oxidant properties of α-pinene were also apparent in a rodent model of pentylenetetrazole (PTZ)-induced convulsions, as pre-treatment with α-pinene decreased seizure time and increased catalase and peroxidase enzyme activity; the latter of which prevent oxidative damage.
Wildcrafted Organic Pine Essential Oil also enjoys GRAS status (generally seen as safe). Do not use if oxidised.
