Commenting On Articles
Leaving comments in the comments section of the many Wild As The Wind articles is a similar process to leaving a question on product pages. Emailing Wild As The Wind
This is the least desired way for people to ask Wild As The Wind a question. Our willingness to answer your questions remains the same, however, several hours each day can be devoted to the task, and only you benefit from the answers.
As Wild As The Wind can be asked the same, or a very similar question several times a week, it makes sense for people to leave their questions in a place where the answers can be seen by everyone.
The more information that is made publically available, the better for everyone.
If you can access the answer to your question, even before you asking it, it will save you the time of ever asking it!
So, please consider using one of the two other ways of asking a question, prior to emailing Wild As The Wind directly.

Examples Of How This Works
The following examples relate to recent enquiries that I’ve received since implementing this new process of answering customer questions. This first example, from Emma, illistrates the natural process of developing an interest in new ways that essential oils and carrier oils can help with additional issues… My answer also illustrates how ancillary information may lead to Emma resolving the issue at source, rather than using products to manage the symptoms…
Dear Rachel
I’m loving the oils I have bought from you recently and the whole family are using them.
I was wondering if you could advise an oil or blend for joint pain. I’ve been having inflammation and pain in my elbow which is strange as it’s my left arm and I’m right handed.
With thanks and best wishes
Emma
I puiblished Emm’s comment on the most appropriate product page (in this instance, on the Ease Essential Oil Blend product page, and left the following response:
Ease Essential Oil Blend
Hi Emma, thanks for your lovely feedback and for your question. I am particularly pleased that you have provided the detail necessary, in your question, for me to give you the full list and possible remedies/interventions.
In the short term, I advocate that you use Ease Essential Oil Blend diluted with Organic Arnica Oil, to address the Inflammation, etc, that you are experiencing in your left arm. This combination of oils is analgesic and anti-inflammatory. It also smells amazing, making it a joy to use.
However, I would also advocate seeing an Osteopath or Bowen Therapist to see if there’s any misalignment going on… so that they can adjust your arm and back, etc, thereby allowing you to achieve long-term resolution to the problem. This may require several treatments over the course of a few months, but, obviously, I can’t speak for the extent of any damage to your arm, nor for the therapist themselves.
However, based on what you have said, it sounds like you are developing Tennis Elbow, which can lead to pain in the thumb also.
Many people injure their left arm and hand when they are right-handed. This is because we use the left arm and hand to hold things firm when we are using our right arm and hand to perform the task we need doing. This means that our left hand and arm are working very hard in a static position, often for extended periods of time. This imposes a lot of stress on the left hand and arm that is not experienced by the right, as the right hand and arm are free to move, and generally remain less strained. In addition, the left-hand arm absorbs the shockwaves of what we are doing with the right, which exacerbates the stress inflicted. This will be particularly damaging if what you are holding with your left hand and arm is consistently vibrating / agitating.
Using our left-hand and arm in this way can cause injuries to the fascia, which is the slender film of connective tissue around our muscles and bone structures. It can also cause our muscles to permanently contract and form knots. A therapist will be able to work with the knotted muscular and fascia contractions and ease them out and release them.
Many of us have lost an intimate relationship with our bodies because of our lifestyles, and a tendency to spend most of our time in our head. It’s important to pay more attention to what is happening physically within our body, in order to avoid sustaining injuries, especially those caused by repetitive strain.
RSI, repetitive strain injury, can be avoided if we remain in-tune with our body, and stop activities when we feel like we are straining too much, and potentially bringing on a case of RSI. Warming up the muscles prior to exertion will also help prevent damage.
I really hope this additional information helps.
Much love. x x x x

Cellulite Enquiries
There were a couple of enquiries about cellulite in quick succession, which prompted me to finally formalise the Cellulite Essential Oil Blend, that I have been advocating for years, and then publishing it as a new product.
May I ask if you have any idea how to reduce cellulite?
I was misdiagnosed with perimenopause & long covid so advised to go on her but in July was finally diagnosed with Haemochromatosis. I now have weekly blood letting which is ongoing for 12-18 months.
I feel my cellulite has got worse! I’m active but not like I used to be.
Do you have any suggestions?
Many thanksVictoria B.
Cellulite Essential Oil Blend
My answer to Victoria is as follows:
Hi Victoria, thanks very much for your question. I have published it on this wild crafted Organic Juniper page, as wild crafted Organic Juniper Needle Essential Oil is one of the best aromatherapy oils for improving blood flow in the body, and addressing the issues of cellulite.
Other aromatherapy oils for improving the appearance of cellulite include:
- Organic Black Pepper Essential Oil is deeply antioxidant & stimulates blood flow
- Wild Crafted Organic Juniper Needle Essential Oil is excellent for detoxifying the skin, hence it being a key ingredient in anti-cellulite preparations
- Organic Ginger Essential Oil is warming, detoxifying and stimulating, and can help improve metabolic rate
- Organic Rosemary Essential Oil is a profoundly important essential oil that helps to restore healthy systemic function.
- Organic Cedarwood Essential Oil
- Organic Cypress Essential Oil
- Organic Geranium Essential Oil possesses wound and scar healing capabilities as it restores skin integrity. It improves the appearance of cellulite because of this.
- Organic Grapefruit Essential Oil is profoundly antioxidant and detoxifying, leaving skin looking cleaner, brighter and smoother.
- Cedrat Essential Oil is deeply antioxidant, and really helps to draw impurities.
I slightly modified this blend for the final product, which improved it aromatically as well as in terms of efficacy.
The other enquiry was from Hannah L:
Love your oils, enjoying NS and your gorgeous face oil and cleansing protocol.
I saw on your digital page an article about Cellulite vanishing blend…is this discontinued now or coming back?
Do you make up blends in request and if so what would be price if this blend?
My response included additional advice about where to buy an effective, and affordable, natural bristle brush for dry brushing purpose. It also included mention of detox products:
Hi Hannah, thanks so much. x x x I’m so glad you are loving your oils. Thanks so much for letting me know. x x x
You are correct in thinking the Cellulite Vanishing Oil is not available as a ready-made product. If you would like to make a simpler version of the recipe, the most important oils are Juniper, Ginger and Grapefruit. Black Pepper would also be an excellent inclusion if your budget stretches to it.
Any of the following carrier oils would be ideal base oils for your blend, as they all provide additional benefits to the essential oils:
You will find more info about these carrier oils, beyond the individual product pages, here: Ultimate Guide To Carrier Oils
In addition to applying an external product, also consider detoxification. I’m now carrying two brilliant detox products from the Clay Cure.
Rejuvenance Active Cell Cleanse With Super Greens Refill Pack
Rejuvenance Active Cell Cleanse With Microalgae Refill Pack
Dry brushing also helps us to detoxify the skin… Boots do a good, firm long handled brush, with natural bristles, which is perfect for this… and very affordable… the last one I got from them was £6.50.
One last thing… removing seed oils from our diet is one of the best things we can do to detox ourselves at a cellular level because omega-6 oils are deeply oxidative. I’ve written about why and how here: Linoleic Acid [AKA Omega-6] Is Disastrous For Our Health.
With love. x x x x

The next query was a complex one, and there would have been no way for me to answer it so fully if I didn’t intend to publish the answer for everyone’s benefit…
I put some fractionated coconut on my face earlier after my shower but it’s slightly irritating my skin, it’s a little itchy, particularly on my forehead so I headed over to your website to find an alternative that might be better suited.
So I’m scrolling for about an hour looking through different carrier oils and I came across Black Seed Oil. It all sounded great for my skin, which is sensitive and extremely dry and quite crepy, and I also have flare ups of eczema in random places (wrists, hips and more recently my thighs).
What grabbed my attention beyond the skin care usage was that it can really help ibs.
I have had ibs since my teens (1990’s) but when I hit 40 it all seemed to get much worse. It can be ‘okay’ for a week or so and then bam, it’s annoyed and causes pain and the bloating is crippling. If you have ever had any abdominal surgery where they pump you full of so much air that is causes pain in your left shoulder/arm, you’ll appreciate what I’m talking about. It doesn’t often get that bad but it does happen. Yes, I could address my diet but having both autism and adhd makes this a challenge and there is so much food that I cannot tolerate as if affects me so badly that I just don’t eat them. Most fruits and veg cause problems so my diet is really quite poor.
I would absolutely love to give Black Seed Oil a go but I am nervous about taking oils internally. I’m fine with Olive Oil and try to have that a few times a week if I can. I have emetophobia and ocd which causes intense distressing thoughts, which causes high anxiety levels, which produces nausea, which then ultimately leads me to take prochlorperazine (antisickness medication). This happens so often and I think I’m just nervous about trying anything new in case my brain gets involved.
I appreciate I am taking up valuable time for you so if you offer consultations for things like this then I am more than happy to book in with you. Not in person though as I also have agoraphobia..such fun.
I guess the bottom line of my adhd rambling is does Black Seed Oil cause nausea, and if you think I’d be better mixing it with another oil, what would be your suggestion? And finally, if you think that the 45 drops daily would help me, could I work up to that amount and how long do you take it for?
I am extremely grateful for any advice you can offer as I truly am at my wits end with my stomach, I just need it to calm down and for the love of God, the bloating and very loud, very frequent wind (though never smelly) needs to stop. It’s uncomfortable to say the least.

My response to this enquiry is so long, that it was impossible to put it into quotation marks… It is as follows:
Hi lovely, I’m really sorry that you have had a reaction to putting coconut oil on your face. Sadly, most people do. This is because the comedogenic value of coconut oil is 4. What this means is that it is very likely to clog pores and cause breakouts. You can learn more here: Ultimate Guide To Carrier Oils
Yes, Organic Nigella Sativa Oil is excellent for digestive health, amongst many other things, when ingested. Please read the other feedback, on this page, after reading the product description, for some really insightful, helpful information.
Organic Nigella Sativa Oil is also excellent for topical application, for things like eczema and psoriasis, etc. However, it is quite an aromatic oil and so it is unlikely to be your favourite face oil, for this reason.
Once your skin has cleared using the Organic Nigella Sativa Oil, I would recommend you consider Organic Marula Oil, Buriti Oil, Bakuchiol Oil, or one of the Wild As The Wind Facial Oils, particularly Facial No. 2, as this provides more protection as well as the nutrients you need for crêpey, dry skin.
However, the dryness of your skin is lightly due to a magnesium deficiency, which will be a consequence of your IBS and digestive issues, in general. When we have a compromised digestion, it is very difficult for us to obtain trace minerals from our diet.
This is why magnesium deficiency is so common, especially amongst those who eat refined sugar. It takes 47 magnesium molecules to process one refined sugar molecule. Also, refined sugar has a very destructive impact on our digestion.
So the best way to obtain magnesium is through transdermal application. So consider getting yourself some Mineral Spritz as this is predominantly magnesium concentrated. It can be applied to our faces, but you must avoid contact with eyes, at all costs, as it will smart.
The minerals in Mineral Spritz will also help with conditions like eczema and psoriasis. Eczema, like all other skin conditions, is inflammatory, and therefore, an autoimmune condition. All of these skin conditions have underlying gut issues at their root.
However, we develop digestive issues for different reasons. Sometimes, emotional stress will negatively impact our digestion so badly that we will develop IBS and other digestive disorders. However, there are many other stressors within our environments that may also cause digestive problems. These include mould exposure, wireless technologies, environmental toxins, synthetic chemicals in cleaning products, and personal care products, as well as fire retardants on all of our soft furnishings, etc…
Our bodies do not differentiate between all of these different forms of stressors. It simply accumulates them until it reaches a tipping point, after which our health takes a nosedive. There are only so many stressors a body can cope with before our systems start to suffer and misfire. This will lead to the development of chronic health problems, like the ones that you have developed. As we are all individual, with personal weaknesses in our make-up, we will all develop a different set of chronic symptomatic conditions. They will all share inflammation in common, and often rashes and pain and discomfort.
Ease Essential Oil Blend has been formulated to deal with the latter. And, there are many anti-inflammatory essential oils to reduce inflammation. You can use the search term anti-inflammatory in the search box to generate a list of these aromatherapy oils.
In attempting to reverse our maladies, it’s really important for us to eliminate as many stressors From our lives as possible. It is easy to remove personal care products and cleaning products, containing synthetic chemicals, from our daily routines.
However, it’s not as easy to combat the emotional stressors and broader environmental toxicants, within our lives.
Nevertheless, we can commit to a process of personal growth and seek out new perspectives and coping mechanisms for the emotional burdens we face, and talk to our councils to ask them not to spray verges with toxic petrochemical fertilisers and herbicides, etc… Ultimately, It’s possible to influence most of the issues we face, overtime.
One of the key things we can address is our diet. Removing refined sugar, and the foods we are intolerant of, will go a long way to improving the condition of digestion and our skin. However, as you mention, you are intolerant of a lot of vegetables, which is not ideal.
This would suggest you have histamine issues, which effectively means that your immune system is on red alert most of the time, if not all of the time. This would also suggest that you may have Mast Cell Activation Syndrome…
The gas and bloating are very common issues, and are likely due to consuming foods that you are intolerant of. I know many people who have the same issues every time that they eat wheat / bread. However, all grains, chocolate and coffee are stored in silos, where mould strains can take up residence. The chances are that you are having as much of a reaction to mould as you are to the actual food source.
Nigella sativa Oil helps with mould infection, and also parasites. It would be helpful to do a parasite cleanse, which would eradicate both issues. Please read the next review, and my response to it, for more information.
The likelihood of things worsening after you turned 40 is probably down to hormonal issues. Our gut produces and regulates most of our hormones. The same is true of our neurotransmitters.
Hormones and neurotransmitters are the chemical messengers that our bodies release in order to communicate what needs to be done to maintain homeostasis.
People with digestive issues experience compromised physiological communication because the production of hormones and neurotransmitters is also compromised.
A healthy gut will also produce the vitamins and other nutrients that contribute to the maintenance of our emotional and overall health. Digestive health is fundamentally important for a proper functioning body and mind, and obviously directly affects our levels of emotional health also.
When we have compromised digestion, we suffer from brain fog, poor concentration and emotional issues. So, sadly, it sounds to me like you are well down the road to developing all of the ancillary problems that an underlying compromised digestion will cause.
Using Nigella Sativa Oil internally would be the first step towards the process of improving your digestive health. Also, if well tolerated, adding Organic Sweet Orange Essential Oil to your drinking water, and sipping it 20 minutes before a meal, would also improve your digestion.
However, your needs are clearly complex and the underlying problems are very well entrenched, so I would also recommend working with a Naturopath to try and rectify your issues over time.
Someone like this would advocate for a low histamine diet to reduce your histamine levels and reduce your excessive immune response. They may also recommend certain supplements to reduce histamine intolerance, including DOA and certain probiotics, etc…
Using over-the-counter antihistamines is not a good idea, as our bodies quickly adapt and will become less able to produce natural antihistamines overtime. However, the use of natural antihistamines, like nettle tea and eating watercress, (as advocated in the Mast Cell Activation Syndrome article), would be helpful.
Also the Wild As The Wind Deep Calm Essential Oil Blend would likely provide tremendous relief as it is formulated as an antihistamine intervention. (I use Deep Calm Essential Oil Blend, for example, when I have insect bites and stings, to great effect.)
To reverse all of your issues will involve a process that may take months, or even years. It will require obtaining important insights and doing extensive research… and perhaps, most importantly, it will require dedication and commitment to sticking to the diet and protocols that will reverse your problems eventually.
Sadly, the notion of there being ‘a pill for every ill’ just simply isn’t the case… In reversing the problems that we have acquired over the process of a lifetime, both time and effort are required.
And, the process usually involves many different phases. This means that you will use certain products at the beginning of your journey and then replace them, overtime, with other products. Sometimes the products will be supplements, and sometimes they will be products for topical application, etc…
As for the taste of Organic Nigella Sativa Oil, it’s not everyone’s cup of tea! I personally love it, but I know that some of my customers don’t share the same experience as me.
It is best taken with Brazil Nuts, as described in the product description, as this sweetens it a little, making it more palatable. It is the way that I take it.
As for the duration, I like many of my customers have been taking Organic Nigella Sativa Oil for years. However, I advocate for supplementing with vitamin E, especially if you take Organic Nigella Sativa Oil indefinitely, because of its omega-6 content… You can learn more about this here: Linoleic Acid [AKA Omega-6] Is Disastrous For Our Health [When ingested]
I hope I’ve answered all of your questions as helpfully aspossible, and I wish you well on your healing journey.
Much love. X x x x x

Hi Rachel,
I’ve recently had a blood test as I was concerned about my energy levels dropping & feeling tired mid afternoon. This has been occurring over the last year. I’ve had alot of stress over the last two years but my diet is fairly well balanced and I do moderate exercise each week.
Anyway to summarise my cholesterol level was noted as very high (8.2) & the GP said their cut off point is 7.6. Neither of my brothers have high cholesterol or my parents. My dad died at 92 years of age during the covid pandemic; cause unknown so may have gone on longer if he hadn’t had the covid vaccination. My mum was diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer soon after dad’s passing but neither of them had high cholesterol or heart issues.
With reference to the blood test; my liver, kidney and diabetes check came back fine. My vitamin D level was high, iron & magnesium levels good, liver & kidney function good and no diabetes.
I keep a close eye on my vitamin D 3 levels and take quercetin, K2 and sea buckthorn supplements plus salvesterol. The only change made recently ( last 8 months) was marine collagen; one teaspoon in my coffee each morning. I also take nigella sativa for my eczema with sweet orange oil when I have an occasional flare up.
Sorry to trouble you but I wondered if there any advice you can give me with regard to lowering my cholesterol levels? I want to try and avoid statins if possible.
Ps will be ordering facial oil no2 and replenishing my jojoba (organic) .
Pps Should I continue with your witch hazel toner for my face eczema?
kind regards,
Sarah
Hi Sarah,
I’m really glad to hear your health is good overall. However, there is a digestive component to Eczema, and of course, stress is an issue. (Stress usually directly negatively impacts our gut… so following ‘grannie’s advice’ and not eating when we are upset, is a really good idea. This is because our digestion shuts down when we are in fight or flight mode. We can do Vagal Breathing to get back into rest and digest mode, before meals.)
I think your fatigue maybe related to the type of fat you are eating. If this is the case, then this article is essential reading for you: Linoleic Acid [AKA Omega-6] Is Disastrous For Our Health [When ingested]
Internal consumption of Nigella Sativa Oil is thought to help regulate cholesterol – more info below…
There are several essential oils recommended in the scientific literature for cholesterol management, that are also good for stress management, also. I would definitely invest in the organic versions of the following…
Bergamot FCF Essential Oil: May help reduce total cholesterol and “bad” LDL cholesterol, while potentially increasing “good” HDL cholesterol. It may also have anti-inflammatory and mood elevating benefits. It is also thought to be the most neuroprotective aromatherapy oil.
Lavender Essential Oil: Studies suggest it may modulate cholesterol metabolism. It is also associated with stress reduction, which can impact cholesterol levels.
Rosemary Essential Oil: Often mentioned for its potential benefits for cholesterol and heart health, especially when combined with cypress oil.
Lemongrass Essential Oil: A 2024 rodent study showed it may help lower blood sugar and manage cholesterol levels.
Cinnamon Essential Oil: Studies suggest that compounds in cinnamon can help lower cholesterol. (I would use cinnamon in your cooking rather than adding it to a carrier oil for topical application… I sometimes use the essential oil in my cooking, but more often reach for the cinnamon bark spice).
Nigella sativa oil (NSO) is thought to help regulate cholesterol, particularly by lowering total and LDL (“bad”) cholesterol and triglycerides. The effects on HDL (“good”) cholesterol are less consistent, with some studies showing an increase and others showing no significant effect.
The actions of NSO are similar to the benefits of the essential oils listed, e.g. anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, etc etc…
How Nigella sativa oil affects cholesterol
The hypocholesterolemic and anti-inflammatory properties of Nigella sativa oil are likely responsible for its effect on cholesterol. Possible mechanisms include:
– Inhibition of cholesterol synthesis: The oil contains bioactive compounds that can suppress the liver enzyme HMG-CoA reductase, which is involved in cholesterol production.
– Reduced cholesterol absorption: The phytosterols and fiber present in black seeds can decrease the amount of cholesterol absorbed from the gut.
– Increased LDL receptor density: Nigella sativa may increase the number of LDL receptors on liver cells, helping to clear more LDL cholesterol from the bloodstream.
– Antioxidant effects: Its potent antioxidant, thymoquinone, can prevent the oxidation of LDL cholesterol, a key step in the development of atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries)
As for statins… I know women who claim they have been brain-damaged by them. We need cholesterol, especially as our brain is 25% cholesterol.
Really hope you find this information helpful. x x x x
Hi, I have recently completed the Bach course in Oxford and would love to meet like minded people. Would you be interested in contacting me?
