Description
Wild As The Wind Makeup Remover Routine
Wild As The Wind Makeup Removal Protocol is a really simple, but effective methodology for removing all types of makeup. The protocol advocates for using two specific products to achieve optimal outcomes.
It’s truly a very quick and easy method of removing makeup… requiring only two very gentle ingredients, which are incredibly effective no matter your skin type.
In fact, these two ingredients are so gentle they can be used on the most sensitive of skin… Plus, they not only remove all types of makeup, including waterproof mascara, without causing irritation, they also really help to eradicate skin issues like blackheads and acne etc.
Why Aren’t These Ingredients Pre-Mixed For You?
One of the two ingredients needed for this protocol is oil based and the other is water based. And, herein lies the problem.
It is no longer possible to mix these ingredients without using all manner of emulsifiers, preservatives and other chemical ingredients that Wild As The Wind is just not willing to use.
This is why we recommend you mix them together yourself, in the cleanest, most natural form possible.
Wild As The Wind Makeup Remover Ingredients
All you need to perform the Wild As The Wind Makeup Remover Process is Organic Jojoba Oil along with a Wild As The Wind Toner.
We strongly recommend Witch Hazel Toner for this purpose, but other options are available.

Wild As The Wind Makeup Remover Routine
There are two ways of approaching makeup removal when using the Wild As The Wind Makeup Removal products…
You can either premix your ingredients at a ratio of 50:50, or you can use them individually in combination with each other.
Wild As The Wind recommend the latter approach, as the ingredients separate when placed in a bottle together, and must always be thoroughly shaken before use.
Plus, it’s best to go in strong with the Organic Jojoba Oil to help break down waterproof eye makeup and then start introducing the Organic Witch Hazel Toner midway through, ultimately finishing up with 100% Organic Witch Hazel Toner to completely cleanse all oily residue from your face before applying your moisturising facial oil.
The only other item you need is a good Muslin Cloth, used while damp and hot, to help cleanse your pores as deeply as possible.
Makeup Remover Protocol Testimonials
★★★★★ 5 Star Etsy Review :: A second order for this product requested by my daughter for her birthday – as she loved the first one so much. She said “please get me it again…my skin’s not the same now I’ve run out.” Thank you x
Hazel, Cambridge
Since using Wild As The Wind’s facial products, I actually look forward to my skincare routine! The Makeup Remover Method is efficient at gently taking off waterproof mascara and foundation…if you use a linen cloth for removing the product, no wasteful cotton wool need be used.
Rachel, Milverton, Somerset
Would love to buy some more of your fantastic witch hazel make up remover, however can’t seem to find one on your shop. Many thanks
Sophie, Helston
Using Your Makeup Removal Protocol
Apply a small amount of Organic Jojoba Oil to your pre-dampened and hot Muslin Cloth, and gently massage the Jojoba Oil over your face in small circular motions. Pay particular attention to your eyelashes, if mascara needs to be removed.
*You can also use the brushed cotton side of your Muslin & Brushed Cotton Cloth / Flannel if there is no need to exfoliate your skin whilst removing your makeup.
*Dampening your cloth with hot water prior to applying Organic Jojoba Oil will make your oil go further, and will help to perform a deeper cleanse, but only if you use hot water. (Heat opens our pores.)
Once you have loosened all of your makeup with your Organic Jojoba Oil, rinse your Muslin & Brushed Cotton Cloth / Flannel or your simple Muslin Cloth in hot water and squeeze it out well. Whilst still hot / warm, wipe your cloth over your face again, mopping up as much of the makeup residue from your face and rinse the flannel again.
Add a second amount of Organic Jojoba Oil to your warm cloth and again gently massage the oil into your face in circular motions. Then spritz your face with three to five sprays of Witch Hazel Toner and continue to massage the oil and Organic Witch Hazel into your skin with your cloth.
Once thoroughly applied, rinse your cloth and use it to remove all of the residue from your face.
Spray your face again with Witch Hazel Toner and whilst you allow that to sink in, wash your Muslin Face Cloth with some Dr Bronner’s Castile Soap to remove all of the oil and residue, and then use your clean warm cloth to wipe off the excess Organic Witch Hazel Toner.
Your face is now ready for your facial oil application.

Contraindications
If you have sensitive skin, or if you do a lot of sun bathing, there’s a very remote chance you may have a slight reaction to this Wild As The Wind protocol.
It is always advisable to perform a patch test on the soft skin on the inside of your forearm before using these products on your face.
Makeup Hazards To Be Aware Of
*Eye makeup can contain C8 chemicals, especially waterproof mascara.
C8 chemicals are disastrous for our health. They cause cancer and disrupt normal bodily functions. They persist in the body and build-up, increasing their toxicity, as they are notoriously difficult to detoxify.
C8 chemicals are a class of man-made carbon compounds which are ubiquitously used in homeware, food packaging and cosmetics. We know them best as the non-stick surfaces on cookware.
DuPont, who brought this product to market, controversially still produce Teflon coated pans, as do many other manufacturers.
DuPont is facing multiple court cases for harms done by their Teflon products, currently numbering several thousand. The film Dark Waters, featuring Mark Ruffalo, depicts the real-life efforts to bring DuPont to justice for egregious environmental harms and the devastating health effects of their Teflon plant in West Virginia.
C8 Chemicals Are Anything-But Natural
C8 chemicals are man-made carbon chains containing eight carbons, and are phenomena which not found anywhere in nature.
They are specific compounds within the family of perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). The two chemicals found in this family of C8 carbons are perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) and perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS).
Thankfully, awareness of the devastating effects of these chemicals is growing, leading to more companies offering PFOA & PFOS-free cookware.
However, there are multiple, cross-sector uses of PFOA & PFOS C8 chemicals, which the public are yet to become cognisant of.
The fact that these artificial carbon products cause cancer and are nigh on impossible to break down within our body, and the environment, is cause for the gravest of concerns.
