Geranium Rose Essential Oil
Geranium Rose Essential Oil is also known as Geranium Bourbon Essential Oil.
Originally, the name Rose Geranium / Geranium Rose was exclusively reserved for the essential oil derived from a cultivar originating from Reunion Island, Madagascar. This oil was interchangeably known as Geranium Bourbon Essential Oil or Geranium Rose Essential Oil.
However, the name is now applied to several aromatherapy oils spanning a number of other species of the Pelargonium family. These comprise:
- Pelargonium graveolens
- Pelargonium capitatum
- Pelargonium × asperum
- Pelargonium cv. rosé
The Wild As The Wind Rose Geranium Essential Oil is from Reunion, making it a true Geranium Bourbon Essential Oil
Wild As The Wind also stock an Organic Geranium Rose Essential Oil.
Geranium Bourbon Essential Oil is made from the same plant used to make Geranium Essential Oil. However, true Geranium Bourbon Essential Oil, produced in Reunion, is more expensive. The price reflects the superiority of true Geranium Bourbon Essential Oil.

Geranium Rose Essential Oil Energetic Properties
Geranium Bourbon Essential Oil is energetically connected to the Liver, the seat of our anger and frustration. In Eastern traditions, it is associated with the 3rd chakra, which is the chakra governing the solar plexus.
The 3rd chakra represents our personal power, the strength of our will, and it is where our ego resides.
When we are caught up in our ego our motives and ideals do not always align with Universal Law and ‘the flow’. When outcomes don’t meet expectations we can be resistant to facing reality, as well as angered that Divine Will, and not our will, has prevailed.
Energetically, Geranium Rose Essential Oil helps to dissolve this type of self-destructive stubbornness by dissolving the anger, resentment and rigid resistance we feel when life doesn’t seem willing to give us our own way.
Rose Geranium Essential Oil is derived from a profoundly rigorous and robust plant: Pelargonium graveolens.
The hardiness of Pelargonium imbues the aromatherapy oil will an energy of great resilience and resourcefulness.
The Pelargonium graveolens plant is incredibly adaptable and self-protective. It shows great character, tolerance, responsiveness and integrity, as well as an aptitude to thrive within a diverse environment.
All of these characteristics translate into energetic qualities and are carried through into the aromatherapy oil.
When we use Geranium Rose Essential Oil, we invite all of these energetic influences to fortify us, and create resilience through being more flexible and less rigid.
This is particularly helpful when what we want is not in accord with our highest good.
Life (the Universe) is on our side. So, if our ambitions equate to that which is unhealthy for us, the Universe will only deliver experiences which will help us to evolve spiritually and grow into the person we are attempting to become at a profound level.
Geranium Bourbon Essential Oil, therefore, helps us to accept that what we are being given is for our greater good, diminishing resistance, allowing us to develop a more philosophical outlook. It facilitates the release of resistance, leaving us open to receiving the hidden gifts within the experiences we are having.
Sometimes our situation doesn’t look like we want it to, but feels great nonetheless. It is the feeling which holds the truth.

I love this oil so much. I use it as a perfume, you dont need to use much as it’s a very strong smell. I put it on my pulse points. I always get good comments when I wear it . Most people want to know where I got it . It’s a very uplifting smell. You wont be disappointed if you get this . It’s also great in my diffuser too.
Rachel Wild –
That’s really great to hear. Thanks. (Geranium Rose is one of the most popular essential oils, and the Wild As The Wind geranium Rose Essential Oil is really good quality!)
This aromatic oil is from another world! I have ordered Geranium from Wild as the wind in the past, and it is fantastic. I didn’t think the smell could get anymore powerful and long lasting. I am obsessed with its wound and scar healing properties, both physical and mental. I use it daily as a lotion with raspberry seed carrier oil to treat my psoriasis until I took a chance and ordered the Geranium Rose. wow. If you too are wondering about the difference be sure to get some you won’t be disappointed by the uplifting brilliance of the Geranium Rose, half a drop on my Mala bead Necklace, and it still smells as sweet and fragrant 3 weeks later (and counting!). So in love with this oil. Talk about serotonin in a bottle.
