Description
Organic Argan Oil
Wild As The Wind Organic Argan Oil is produced in Morocco by a woman’s co-operative. It is also, very importantly, made sustainably.
The popularity of Organic Argan Oil, within the high-end skincare sector, has led to over-exploitation of this organic oil. Tragically, this means that it can only be procured from a small section of Northern Morocco, where once Argan trees covered vast swathes of land.

Organic Argan Oil For Skincare
Organic Argan Oil is an ideal base for bath and body oils. It is deeply moisturising and nutritive.
The many nutrients found in Organic Argan Oil help to improve the health and condition of your skin, but it’s best reserved for bodily and hair use, unless diluted with other carrier oils.
This is because Organic Argan Oil has quite a high comedogenic value. This means that it is difficult for our fine facial skin to absorb. It can potentially cause pores to become clogged and can worsen problem skin conditions.
We do not advise using Organic Argan Oil undiluted on facial skin. But, when added to one or several other carrier oils (at a maximum 20% dilution) it will not present absorbancy issues.
Those with acne, or who are prone to breakouts, should not use more than 10% Organic Argan Oil in their face oil blends.
Comedogenic oils can clog pores and worsen breakouts.
Organic Argan Oil For Haircare
Organic Argan Oil is a firm favourite as a carrier for hair oils and beard oils. This is because it is full of nutrients and moisturising fatty acids. The addition of a lesser amount of Organic Sea Buckthorn Oil is also advisable. This will raise the nutrient profile or your hair or beard oil to an even higher level.
If you have hair loss issues, then you may want to use Pumpkin Seed Oil instead of Organic Sea Buckthorn Oil to raise the nutrient content of your hair oil. Please see below for more information.
In addition, Organic Jojoba Oil is often added to hair oil recipes for those with finer hair.
Plus, there are three essential oils which are renowned for improving the health and condition of hair, and for actually restoring hair growth…
Essential Oils For Healthy Hair
Choose from Ylang Ylang Essential Oil, (several versions to choose from), Rosemary Essential Oil or Lavender Essential Oil (several versions to choose from), to improve hair growth and the overall health of your hair.
Or treat yourself to the organic versions of these essential oils to complement your Organic Argan Oil.
To see all of the Lavender Essential Oil options available, just type “Lavender” in the search box at the top of the page and hit return or click “Go”.
And similarly, to see all of the Ylang Ylang Essential Oil options available, just type “Ylang” in the search box at the top of the page and hit return or click “Go”.
Organic Sea Buckthorn Oil
Organic Sea Buckthorn Oil is also excellent for using within a hair treatment oil or beard oil.
It is recommended you use anywhere between 20% and 30% of Organic Sea Buckthorn Oil along with 70% to 80% of Organic Argan Oil.
Add Organic Jojoba Oil to suit your personal needs.
Pumpkin Seed Oil
Pumpkin Seed Oil also has an important role to play within haircare.
Recent scientific evidence suggests that Pumpkin Seed Oil is more effective than certain hair loss drugs for female pattern hair loss.
Making Hair Oil
It is helpful to combine carrier oils in hair oil preparations, depending on your own personal needs. There is no correct combination of oils, as we all have different requirements. A process of experimentation will help you arrive at the best combination for you.
Organic Rosemary Essential Oil and Organic Ylang Ylang Essential Oil are the two most important organic aromatherapy oils for haircare, but adding Organic Lavender Essential Oil is also helpful.
A 3% dilution of essential oils to carrier oil is ideal. So, 3ml of essential oil to 100ml of carrier oil will provide you with the correct concentration.
1ml = c. 20 – 25 drops of essential oil.
Making Beard Oil
A beard oil is essentially a hair oil, and so the instructions are similar for both. However, the ratio of carrier oils should be 40% Organic Argan Oil, 40& Organic Jojoba Oil & 20% Sea Buckthorn Oil, especially if you are prone to blocked pores and breakouts.
You can completely stick to the same essential oils used for hair oil, as these are the best for the condition and fullness of your beard. However, if they don’t suit you aromatically, then many different essential oils can be used.
Other firm favourites include:
- Eucalyptus Dives Essential Oil
- Cedarwood Atlas Essential Oil
- Canada Balsam Essential Oil
- Gurjum Essential Oil (aka. Gurjun Essential Oil)
- Patchouli Essential Oil
- Myrrh Essential Oil
- Sandalwood Essential Oil
Wild As The Wind stock many of these oils within our organic essential oil range, also.
Adding Essential Oils To Shampoo & Conditioner
Adding essential oils to your shampoo and conditioner is very easy :: Simply add 10 drops of your chosen mix of essential oils to every 100ml of shampoo or conditioner.
