Description

Dishwasher Essential Oil Blend

There are a number of excellent reasons to add a good Dishwasher Essential Oil Blend to your dishwasher cycles.

Essential oils help to degrease and cleanse your crockery, cutlery and glasses. But, a really effective Essential Oil Blend will do a lot more…

Depending on the essential oils in your blend, a good Dishwasher Essential Oil Blend will decontaminate your wash, and also keep the pipes of your dishwasher free from mould and bacteria.

The Wild As The Wind Dishwasher Essential Oil Blend does all of this, and more… and is a welcome addition to DIY cleaning options, as well as conventionally produced dishwasher tablets and powders.

Wild As The Wind Dishwasher Essential Oil Blend

The Wild As The Wind Dishwasher Essential Oil Blend is a beautifully scented blend of aromatherapy oils, that deliver many benefits to your dishwasher cycles.

More specifically, the Wild As The Wind Dishwasher Essential Oil Blend has been formulated to perform all the following tasks, perfectly:

  • Help degrease and dissolve dried-on food waste, from ceramics, metals and glass.
  • Cleanse and deactivate bacterial, fungal, parasitical and viral contaminants within your wash.
  • Work in synergy with, and improve the efficacy of, the recommended eco-friendly ingredients for dishwashing, below. These include: bicarbonate of soda, white vinegar and citric acid. (They will also work with non-scented, commercially available dishwasher products, just as well.)
  • Keep the pipes, and main chamber, of your dishwasher free from mould and bacteria.

Make Your Own Dishwasher Detergent

This recipe must be used in conjunction with the DIY Rinse Aid detailed below.

You can pre-mix the powdered ingredients in a jar, shaking them well, to ensure that they are mixed thoroughly.

Ingredients:

  • 4 parts soda crystals
  • 4 parts borax substitute
  • 2 parts bicarbonate of soda

For those of you who don’t know how to keep the salt reservoir of your dishwasher well stocked with a clean, natural salt, (sodium with no caking agents, etc.), then you can also add:

  • 4 parts natural salt – fine if possible

When you are ready to use your dishwasher powder, simply do the following:

  • Fill the dishwasher powder reservoir with your dishwasher powder.
  • Pour a couple of really good glugs of distilled white vinegar on top of the powder.
  • Finally, add 10 -20 drops of Wild As The Wind Dishwasher Essential Oil Blend to your cleaning agents. Do not touch the other cleaning ingredients with the nozzle of your Essential Oil Blend bottle.

It’s imperative to remember to fill up the rinse aid compartment, with the rinse aid recommended below, and once that’s done, close that bloomin’ dishwasher door, and hit GO!

Make Your Own Rinse Aid

You only need two ingredients to make your own rinse aid… and one of them is water!

You will also need a large clean 1L bottle, and perhaps a funnel, if you are not used to pouring into a narrow gauge bottle.

Your ingredients:

  • 200g Citric Acid
  • 800g Water (distilled is best… or you can use pre-boiled water to remove impurities, and any solids / particulates)

Making Your Rinse Aid

  • Add the citric acid to your bottle.
  • Pour in your water, and close the lid firmly.
  • Shake the bottle rigorously, for a minute or so, to ensure all the citric acid powder has dissolved completely.

Store in a cool, dark and dry place, when not in use.

Other Considerations

Always ensure that your dishwasher is well stocked with salt. A failure to do this will result in damage to your crockery and glassware.

Insufficient salt in your dishwasher is what leaves creamy, opaque residues on your crockery and glassware, etc.

Dishwashers: do you have any natural solutions (other than handwashing!) for dishwasher detergents? I have tried making my own and ended up with a white dusting / scratching on my glasses and plates. Thanks!
