Lemon & Cayenne Drink For Liver Support & Weight Loss

This Lemon & Cayenne drink for liver and weight loss support is critically important for our gallbladder, and our liver health. This is partly because warm lemon juice helps to dilute and detoxify our bile, preventing it from becoming thick, toxic and increasingly ineffectual.
Slow moving bile leads to gall stones, which can accumulate in large numbers within our gallbladders.
Plus, when our bile is suboptimal, then our digestion is compromised, leading to all manner of secondary health challenges.
Ultimately, poor quality bile, that is sluggish and overloaded with toxins, reduces our ability to absorb nutrients from our food.
It is astonishing how many people are suffering from malnutrition in Western developed countries. Poor quality bile is one of the contributing factors.
Poorly performing bile also negatively impacts our metabolic rate, and the toxic overloading of our liver and gallbladder, in general, all lead to weight gain.
Bile Production & Purpose
Our bile is produced in our liver, which is then stored in our gallbladder.
It’s now understood that our gallbladder both moderates and regulates our entire digestive system. So despite being a little bean shaped organ, our gallbladder is crucially important for our wellbeing at a profound and systemic level.
It is difficult for our bodies to produce bile, owing to the complexity of the compounds needed. However, bile is critically important for the process of breaking down fats, and facilitating digestion.
Consequently, in order to ensure availability at all times, our body tends to recycle our bile approximately twenty times before finally creating more. Inevitably, during the repeat cycle of usage, our bile can become exceptionally sluggish and laden with cholesterol and toxins.
Cholesterol and calcified deposits in our bile are what create gall stones.
An overburdened liver, due to poor diet and inefficient bile, will attempt to neutralise deleterious outcomes from too much toxicity, by laying the toxins down in fat deposits. So, it is these excessive amounts of toxins which lead to the creation of fat and cellulite.
Accumulated toxins can also affect our mental and emotional health, predisposing us to anxiety and depression.
In short, slow moving bile, sluggish livers and over-burdened gallbladders lead to poor metabolism, and poorer metabolic rate, which in turn, all lead to weight gain and the creation of cellulite.
Lemon & Cayenne Drink
The atomic structure of Lemon Juice is very similar to the digestive compounds found in the stomach. i.e it has the ability to mimic hydrochloric acid. So, when we start the day with a hot lemon and cayenne drink, it causes a detoxifying cascade of events.
When we begin of morning detoxification process with a lemon and cayenne drink, which is warm enough to work as efficiently as possible, but not so hot that it destroys the nutrients in the lemon, the following happens:
- lt prompts your Liver to produce more bile
- This helps food move through your Stomach more efficiently, which is particularly important if you are a meat eater.
- The liver also releases a backlog of toxins into the small intestine, for elimination.
For those of us who eat meat, it is important to understand the following:
- Meat is broken down by the body a lot more slowly than vegetables.
- Having a healthy digestive tract will reduce the amount of time that animal-derived proteins rest in the gut.
- Proteins have a tendency to deposit and begin to rot in a sluggish digestive tract, leading to digestive issues over time.
- Chronic petrification of animal protein can lead to serious, and ultimately, potentially life-threatening digestive conditions.
Benefits Of Organic Lemons
- Vitamin C
- Antioxidants
- Electrolytes including Magnesium, Potassium and Calcium.
- Proteolytic enzymes – needed for the proper digestion of our food.
- Lemon juice mimics the hydrochloric acid in our stomach, and initiates the digestive process when drunk first thing in the morning, 20 minutes before food.
Vitamin C
Vitamin C is crucial for the proper functioning of our immunity. Medical literature supports the fact that it is antibacterial and antiviral. Intravenous vitamin C is a common intervention in cases of acute toxicity and infection.
It is excellent for neutralising chronic infections, such as gingivitis, and it can be used topically, in a paste, to help counter skin infections.
Vitamin C transforms toxins into more easily processed forms.
Antioxidants
In addition, antioxidants neutralise free radicals, supporting healthy immunity. It is an overburdened immune system which leads to chronic and life-threatening conditions. In short, antioxidants reduce the risk of degenerative disease
Another benefit of antioxidants is that they keep us looking and feeling younger.
Trace Minerals
Trace minerals, which act as electrolytes in the body, also keep us looking and feeling younger
Electrolytes are vitally important for many critical functions of the body. For example, they keep us properly hydrated, which supports us at a systemic level. Using the juice of half a lemon is a great way of remineralising our filtered water.
Enzymes
Lemon juice stimulates natural enzymes in our liver by helping to oxygenate the body. It also helps to promote proteolytic enzymes found in the gut.
Additional Benefits
Lemon juice contains 7% to 10% citric acid, which does all of the following|:
- Aids digestion
- Reduces heartburn
- Helps dissolve kidney stones
- Balances body pH by making it more alkaline.
*Acidity has been cited as a leading cause of degenerative illness.
As you’ll see in the short Don Tolman video below, Warm Lemon Juice stimulates the secretion of gastric juices, which are critical for the proper digestion of food.
Cayenne Pepper
It is vitally important to ensure you buy Cayenne Pepper that has not been irradiated as this kills all of the healing properties of this beautiful, vital spice
- Regulates blood sugar
- Increases the temperature of the body, opening the capillaries and improving circulation, which supports digestion, reduces flatulence, improves detoxification, reduces blood pressure and may even prevent common heart problems that can lead to serious conditions.
- Improves lymphatic health.
- Cayenne works to strengthen the blood vessels, keeping blood moving efficiently and cholesterol levels low.
- Profoundly anti-inflammatory: dramatically reducing nerve and joint pain actively reducing mast cells in the body, which contribute to inflammation and pain in the body.
- Cayenne has been used for centuries in the treatment of snake bites, insect bite, suppurating sores and wounds.
- Capsaicin, an anti-oxidant in Cayenne, treats a vast array of conditions. A1998 study concluded that Capsaicin possesses 22 anti-cancer properties. Capsaicin actively blocks substance-P production, a compound that activates the pain mechanism in the brain, and it also breaks down lipid deposits that cause narrowing of the blood vessels, whilst at the same time dilating them, reducing the risk of cardio issues and blood clots.
*Anything that improves oxidative stress in the body will have a profound, systemically healing impact.
*Cancer cells cannot survive in an oxygenated system
Lemon and Cayenne Together
Vitamin C from Lemons coupled with the Capsaicin in Cayenne Pepper both share immune-boosting properties.
It is the combined forces of Lemon and Cayenne Pepper that helps to stimulate the Liver, providing it with the right balance of nutrients to detox from harmful substances, like, bad fats, sugar and alcohol. Unsurprisingly, they also help boost energy levels!
Lemon and Cayenne work together to combat sugar issues. Both possess appetite-suppressing properties, which are thought to reduce sugar cravings.
Our internal skin is not the only thing to enjoy improved condition. Our external skin also benefits at a deep level. Lemon and Cayenne are two ingredients used to treat Psoriasis and Eczema etc. (If you also precede this drink with a good Probiotic, your skin healing will go into super-drive.)
They’re also a formidable duo against bad bacteria and viruses. In fact, the anti-bacterial properties in Lemon and Cayenne are so strong they can be used as kitchen and bathroom cleaners.
To boost the anti-bacterial actions of this drink and provide even more support for your gut you could add 1/2 a teaspoon of non-irradiated Ginger Root Powder, or fresh Ginger, to your early morning drink. To boost the sugar-regulating properties you could add 1/4 of a teaspoon of Non-irradiated Cinnamon Powder, preferably from Sri Lanka. (A lot of lower quality ‘Cinnamon Powder’ is actually a powder made from a much cheaper bark from the Cassia Tree.)
All of these ingredients will help to support healthy digestion.
Vitamin C deficiency is widespread. This leads to all manner of health issues, as vitamin C is vitally important for immune function.
For example, vitamin C deficiency can lead to the bacteria, in our mouths, growing out of control. So the vitamin C obtained from lemon juice, and the capsaicin from cayenne pepper, may reduce toothache and pain.
An overgrowth of oral bacteria is considered to be the root cause of 90% of disease. It is also understood that our bodies can’t heal until our oral issues are rectified.
Supporting Healthy Digestion
It is increasingly important to support healthy digestion, especially as we age.
Sadly, we are living in an increasingly toxic world. Xenoestrogens /synthetic oestrogens from plastics within the food chain, the chlorine in our water and many building materials and soft furnishings in our homes, etc, all contribute to our oestrogenic load.
In addition, endotoxins, or lipopolysaccharide (LPS), are produced by gram-negative bacteria in our gut. If complex carbohydrates are not properly digested in our stomachs, they make their way into the intestines in their improperly digested form.
Once in the intestines they feed gram-negative bacteria, leading to the colonisation of bad bacteria, also known as SIBO. These gram-negative bacteria live out their lifecycle reproducing and dying. It is when these bad bacteria die that they release LPS. This can lead to leaky gut, allergic reactions, organ dysfunction and even sepsis.
In addition, mycotoxins from mould infections can also cause catastrophic harms in the body. The moulds which can colonise our gut are often found in our home, schools and work places. Wireless technologies, such as routers, mobile and radio phones, baby monitors and other cordless devices, all supercharge the growth of mould within buildings.
These xenoesotrogens, endotoxins and mycotoxins play an important role in many chronic degenerative diseases.
The endotoxin, lipopolysaccharide, is also the precursor to metabolic reactions that can convert tryptophan into serotonin. (90% of our serotonin is made in the gut.)
Excessive levels of serotonin are also problematic. This is because serotonin is antimetabolic, which simply means that it suppresses our body’s ability to create energy in the electron transport chain. This means that we grow increasingly fatigued, and our metabolic rate slows down. This leads to weight gain.
Elevated oestrogen levels, as a consequence of xenoestrogen exposure etc, may result in symptoms that are identical to endotoxin toxicity. There has been a rapid rise in oestrogenic cancer, especially among women.
In fact, oestrogen is now considered one of our most significant toxic threats. And, whilst women are statistically more likely to develop life-threatening consequences, men are not immune to the high amounts of oestrogenic compounds found in our diets, and immediate environments. Oestrogen is a major driver of certain cancers in both men and women.
To compound the problem, it is estimated that 30% of endotoxin cases are misdiagnosed, which are related to excess oestrogen.
Heavy metals are also a major issue within the body and can also compound digestive issues. These can be obtained through our food, injections and even in our air and water.
Organic food is NOT tested for heavy metals.
Heavy metals are implicated in chronic infections, (for example, viruses and mould infections like to hide behind heavy metals within the body), and are also thought to be a leading cause of neurodegenerative disorders, such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s etc.
We Need To Demand Heavy Metal Testing Of Our Foods
Organic lemons bought from Spain man contain mercury from amalgam fillings! This is because Spain is using ‘humanure’ to fertilise crops.
But, spices, especially those grown in ‘exotic’ places, can also be contaminated with heavy metals.
Aside from demanding that our food producers test for metals, we also need to discover, and support, the businesses who are already testing for heavy metals… because they care!
One such company is Detox Trading. It is possible to buy Cinnamon and Ginger Powders. Sadly, they do not sell Cayenne Pepper, as yet.
Only Use Quality Ingredients
It is always important to buy organic produce and spices, wherever possible, ideally from a local supplier.
Mass-produced foods, bought from supermarkets, have markedly less nutrients in them than organic fruit and veg produced using traditional farming methods.
Sadly it isn’t possible to buying any of the ingredients listed in this Lemon & Cayenne Drink which are produced in the UK. However, buying them from UK businesses and local suppliers that you trust, will hopefully ensure quality.
More Reasons To Shop Local & From UK Small Businesses
Supermarkets are generally owned by foreign holding companies. This usually means that up to 80% of the money you spend at a supermarket is sucked out of your local economy, and is then invested abroad.
Supermarket policy decisions also result in the following:
- Destruction of our arable land.
- Force farmers to adopt modern farming methods, after which, a lifetime of local farming know-how is lost.
- Put local businesses under unendurable competitive pressure, resulting in many of them going bust.
Many of our woes are due to the intensive, large-scale farming methods, which are needed in order to feed the voracious appetite, of supermarkets, for low-cost goods and ingredients.
It is estimated that 30% of arable farming land, around the world, has been completely stripped of nutrients. This means that these soils are simply providing physical support for the plants, but isn’t providing any of the nutrients. This means that farmers are becoming increasingly dependent on artificial fertilisers, without which, the seeds wouldn’t even germinate, let alone grow into full sized plants.
Organic Fertilizers are materials derived from plant and animal parts or residues. Examples are, Blood Meal, Compost, Bat Guano, Manure, Seaweed, and Worm Castings.
Synthetic Fertilizers are “Man made” inorganic compounds – usually derived from by-products of the petroleum industry. Examples are Ammonium Nitrate, Ammonium Phosphate, Superphosphate, and Potassium Sulfate.
Except from: Synthetic vs. Organic Fertilizers
by Jerry Gach
*Synthetic fertilisers are entirely unsustainable. They are derived from petrochemicals.
To protect the health of our children and our grandchildren we need to support growers that are taking care of, and regenerating the soil.
How To Make Lemon Cayenne Water
This hot Lemon & Cayenne liver and weight loss support drink is actually best drunk at a temperature just above tepid.
Simply squeeze half a lemon into a tall glass and add a pinch of cayenne pepper powder.
If you have time, it is best to zest the lemon prior to squeezing. The zest of the lemon makes this drink a lot more palatable. However, for convenience, you could add a single drop of Organic Lemon Essential Oil, instead.
The essential oils in lemon zest also improve the potency of this healthful drink.
*There is a unique constituent in lemon zest, and lemon essential oil, which is extremely useful in stage two of liver detoxification.
The best way, I find, of getting the right amount of Cayenne into this early morning drink is to use the non-spoon end of the spoon!
Add cold water to your mix before adding some boiled water from the kettle.
Only use filtered water, for all of the reasons above.
As well as being is an endocrine disruptor, chlorine also undermines immune function.
Always make and consume your hot Lemon & Cayenne Drink first thing in the morning, before consuming any food.
Also:
- Drink it in one go.
- Avoid eating anything for at least 20 minutes.
- Consume once daily, first thing in the morning before food and drink.
Also, always use a binder when performing any form of detox.
Products like Zeolite Clay and activated citrus pectin are ideal binders. Take your preferred binder immediately after consuming your Lemon & Cayenne Drink.
It is important to avoid recirculating your dislodged toxins via your blood supply, and digestion, unless you actively neutralise them with binders, first.
Recirculated toxins, which aren’t neutralised by a binding agent, are free to travel throughout your system and become lodged elsewhere. Heavy metals have an affinity with the brain, and once they make their way into our head, they are very difficult to detoxify.
If a toxin is bound by a binding agent, it can be safely excreted from the body.
It is possible to purchase Zeolite Clay from the Wild As The Wind Online Shop.
To learn more about binders, please read ‘heavy metal detoxification methods’ in this Heavy Metals article.
