Organic Peppermint Essential Oil

Wild As The Wind Organic Peppermint Essential Oil is a beautifully clean and refreshingly aromatic essential oil. It is a cooling and revitalising, especially when applied to the soles of our feet, after being properly diluted in a good carrier oil.

According to Dr Couic Marinier, “The European Commission has recognised Peppermint Essential Oil’s effectiveness in curing and soothing headaches”.

Peppermint Aromatherapy Oil… enhances our ability to face the issues of the day with clarity of vision accompanied by increased vigour. It effectively provides us with the mental and emotional support we need to process the issues we are facing, so it’s little wonder it’s also used to successfully treat indigestion, nausea, halitosis and Irritable Bowel Syndrome, (IBS).

Peppermint Aromatherapy Oil In Brief

Peppermint has been used since time in memorial for digestive issues and queasiness. Nevertheless, modern science is still performing research to establish efficacy and mechanism. The following was, somewhat hilariously, reported in Science Direct, amid other compelling evidence for the use of Peppermint Essential Oil for antiemetic purposes to reduce nausea and vomiting.

The effect of peppermint was audited in a study with 10 patients at the oncology center of St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford, Massachusetts, and found to be effective in reducing the nausea of patients undergoing chemotherapy when used instead of [antiemetic] drugs… Peppermint proved so effective that those in the control group demanded the peppermint, and the control part of the study collapsed!

***Hemp Essential Oil is also routinely being used for those with cancer, especially to counter the ill effects of chemotherapy.

Organic Peppermint Essential Oil For Oral Hygiene

Organic Peppermint Essential Oil has also been used throughout the ages for dental health. It reduces tooth sensitivity, kills bacteria, and freshens breath.

Organic Peppermint Essential Oil is, therefore, a great ingredient to add to homemade toothpastes.

There are a few other aromatherapy oils which are also exceptional for oral hygiene. These include Organic Sweet Orange Essential Oil, Copaiba Balsam Essential Oil and Organic Clove Leaf Essential Oil.

All of these oils have specific strengths, so it’s good to alternate them. Clove Leaf is thought to help remineralise teeth, for example.

Organic Sweet Orange Essential Oil and Copaiba Essential Oil make for a great combination when used together, especially for oil pulling. Both offer many benefits for oral hygiene.

Oil Pulling For Dental & Digestive Health

Oil pulling is a fantastic way of naturally reducing harmful bacteria in our mouths.

*Neutralising oral bacteria can positively impact digestive health and halitosis.

Simply add a couple of drops of essential oil to a dessert spoon of Organic Coconut Oil, and swish around your mouth and through your teeth for up to 20 minutes.

Never swallow your swished oil mixture, and avoid emptying them down the drain of your sink. It is better to spit the used oil into a well lined bin to protect your plumbing from potential oil build-ups.

I particularly like a combination of Organic Sweet Orange Essential Oil and Copaiba Essential Oil, but will alternate with Organic Peppermint Essential Oil and Organic Clove Leaf Essential Oil, especially if my teeth are feeling a little sensitive.

Organic Peppermint Essential Oil Crystallisation

A good number of the benefits of Organic Peppermint Essential Oil are due to the menthol content of this oil. The menthol content is also why Organic Peppermint Essential Oil will develop crystals at cooler temperatures, making it difficult to pour.

Remedying this is easily done. Simply increase the temperature of the oil by gently warming it to your body temperature.

There are many ways of doing this. One of the quickest is to roll the bottle between your hands. Or, you can deposit the bottle in a warm spot about your body. A clothed armpit is generally the most convenient warm spot!

In addition, vigorously shaking the bottle can help to break down the crystals.

I absolutely love all things minty and this Organic Peppermint EO does not disappoint. I have used one drop in a bottle of water for a refreshing drink and it seems to help the bloating I suffer from sometimes. And I love putting some in my diffuser first thing in the morning whilst I’m doing my yoga practice, the aroma is so uplifting , fresh and motivating! Also looking forward to using it for oil pulling and making a homemade toothpaste, what a fantastic and useful oil!

  2. Angie Bewick (verified owner)

Lovely fresh peppermint essential oil. I use peppermint to clear my sinuses by pressing a drop on the roof of my mouth. Obviously I would only do that with a pure, top quality oil like this. Very happy, would definitely buy again.

  3. Aphra (verified owner)

I use peppermint oil regularly for headaches and respiratory support, and this is truly one of the best I’ve found – you can feel the clarity of the oil, great value for such high quality.
